Background-
Swiss group DKSH has agreed to acquire Dubai-headquartered NewBridge Pharmaceuticals at an enterprise value of $390 million, taking its healthcare business into the Middle East and North Africa.
DKSH announced the deal in a statement dated October 19. The agreement covers the entire business, which runs offices in Egypt, Algeria and Morocco. Closing is expected by the end of March 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.
Enterprise value measures the worth of the operating business, so it can differ from the amount shareholders ultimately receive.
NewBridge helps international drugmakers bring specialist medicines into regional markets. It handles sales, marketing, distribution and market access support, linking overseas developers with the local networks that reach healthcare providers and patients.
The company’s records show a network covering 14 countries. In November 2025, it launched its partnership with Danish drugmaker Lundbeck and took charge of sales, marketing, access and distribution for Lundbeck’s neuroscience medicines across the region. A separate agreement with Kyowa Kirin gave NewBridge distribution duties for two rare-disease treatments in Algeria, Libya, Iraq and Jordan.
The model lets drugmakers keep development and manufacturing while a local partner handles regional sales. The deal gives DKSH an established regional platform.
Patient benefits will depend on supply continuity and on whether new therapies arrive. Neither company has shared how much NewBridge revenue comes from North Africa.
